Hello!

Anyone got this to work on the new avensis?
We also tried the hex file for avensis 2002, but no luck.
I can see the signal from h.u comes to the Atmega8, but it does not reply.

Best regards

Carsten / Denmark

Have you changed the adress 0160 to 0190 ? Some more things to change, I will try to find them.

I believe this is necessary for new avensis model.
I also have the new avensis (model 2004), and want to program my atmel tonight.
I did change the the program.

If you like, send the source code, I can check it for you.

I build a combination of the aux-in and the sniffer/ipod, with 4 aux inputs.
When everything is operational, I will post schematic and scource code.

Let me know if you have some progress. Allways good to have some one with the same car type.

Greetings and good luck,

Kapabay.

As promised I programmed the atmega8. and..... it works.

So I have to keep my promise and upload the schematics and the beta version of the program. I still have to add the selection for the aux inputs via the selection of the CD.

Best regards,

kapabay

For all of those having an Avensis 2003+; I have included the compilex hex file for the Avensis 2003 for both the simple aux as wel as my multi-aux interface board, and a pdf file, with all the info I found on this forum concerning the Avenis.

I hope this is usefull to someone.

A very special THANK YOU to Marcin and Alex, who both have shared their knowledge with all of us (and me).

Best regards,

Kapabay

Hello Torben and Carsten,

Sorry for the late reply, but the site was down all week-end, you may allways reply to my P.M.

When I take a look at the radio, it looks the same. I know there are 2 factory's who build radio's for toyota. Panasonic and Fujitsu-Ten.

I have made a picture of the specifications on the identification tag of the radio, so you can compare it with your radio. As you can see, mine in Panasonic.

Can you explain a bit more of what you allready tried, how you build it, how you made the connection, what software... Dit you check the fuse bits ? This is very important.

About the schematics : I do have the avensis service manual on CD, so these I have, but if it is more detailed, I do am interested.

By the way, I have the Linea Luna model with the 2L D4D 116 HP engine, I was able also to activate the cruise contol very easyly, let me know if you are interested.

Update of my project :
I can now select the input by selecting a CD
I use the RS232 output to control winamp on my tablet PC via Girder
Elapsed time, title,.. is transfered to RS232 Todo : display elapsed time on the radio.
Here you can see some pictures of the tablet PC in the car :
http://users.fulladsl.be/spb1957/
I allready rebuild the supporting tube in the cup holder, much better now, I will send the pictures how to make one if you like. Its very solid, quick to install and remove, and very cheap to build.

Best regards,

kapabay

I will check the radio today, but i am 99% sure that it is the same.
We programmed the atmega8 with ponyprog 2000.
We have tried programming:
simple_avc.hex and ipod_avc.hex. and none of them worked.
We programmed the the fuse bits after programming and they where set like this:
CKOPT, BOOTSZ1, SUT1, CKSEL0 where checked.

Today i will try to check if there are any reply from th atmega8 with a scope.

I can see that the radio communicates when it is turned on.
Ill be back tommorow.

Thanks a lot for your help.

i have attached the torrent.

Are you interested in toyotas EPC (electronic part catalog) program?
I have the iso´s for eur, jap, us.

Kind regards
Torben

hello again kapabay
Now i have checked the radio, and it is the same as your. all numbers are the same, and mine is also a panasonic. The only difference is the production country mine is made in czekoslovakia, and yours in Germany.

I have measured the rx (pin4) and the signal is comming when i push the cd/tape button. But a cant see anything happens on tx (14).
Some how i must program the atmega8 wrong, or the fuses or not set right.
Please come back if you have any suggestions.
I havent mounted the components for the rs232 circuit, but i dont think that could make any difference.

Kind regards
Torben

This is how I set my fuse bits :

P&B_CKSEL0=P&O_BITS=Apply+fuse+bits

[Edited!]

I don't understand which pcb you are using, my design, or one of Marcin ?

If you use my design, you should use pin 13 and 14 / the smple aux of marcin uses pin 2 and 3. Didn't you miox up things ?

Kind regards,

kapabay
