Hi all, this is a little off topic, but I wonder if anyone can help. My AVCLAN sniffer was working pretty smoothly for awhile, but the last time I plugged it in it seemed to kill the ACC out from my head unit. The head unit still works fine, but there is nothing coming out on the ACC out line anymore; it's just floating. The sniffer still works fine too if I just connect it directly to the BATTERY line, but I don't really want to do that.
Any ideas about how to fix this without replacing the head unit? It's the Toyota unit A51813, AKA Panasonic 86120-02430.
Any thoughts on what I did that caused this to die? I just had the ACC running to the voltage regulator for my micro. |

| Ah, yes that's very helpful! The PCB ACC trace was burnt, so probably I shorted the line somehow, although I'm not sure how. I've ended up wiring the pin connecting the ACC input directly to the pin connecting the ACC output, bypassing the PCB entirely. I'm fairly sure that with this setup a short on the ACC line will now blow a fuse in my dashboard, but need to double check that. Until then I'm using a 9V battery to power my board instead of ACC. |
